What is our passion?
We have a passion for systemic and constructionist theory, thoughts and practices, because it gives us a way of understanding and creating life-giving relationships in communities, schools, organisations and families. It is a way of understanding and appreciating the uniqueness of each system, and a way of working with social systems in a curious and appreciative way.
What are the ideas that give life to Constructing Worlds Conference?
We view the Constructing Worlds Conference as a mutual learning event with enormous potentials for the future. Systemic and constructionist ideas now move across domains of practice. New ideas and new change-oriented practices emerge in multiple venues. This conference will provide a major means of sharing these ideas and practices across borders – of schools of thought, of professional life and of nations. Our hope is not only for mutual illumination, but for fostering new collaborative relationships, and an unleashing of creative potentials. Ultimately we hope that our collective efforts will contribute to life-giving relationships in families, communities, schools, organizations, and more.
The Constructing Worlds conference also points towards an understanding of the way we co-create the worlds we experience through the relations we engage in. The more we can co-create meaningful and life giving relationships, the more we create possibilities for our futures.
The ideas urge us to meet people with respect and appreciation. To respect their morality, their values and their way of living. It calls us to be curious about how we can connect to these values and ways of living. It invites us to be both curious and challenging towards the ideas and practices that keep us from moving in desired directions. Constructing Worlds conference is our way of creating a generative and curios space.
